iPhone 2.0

Ok, i know i am late to the iPhone 2.0 review party, but I don't care because i am sick of this firmware. I HATE IT!!!! Worst operating system in the past two years... except for...you know..*cough* Vista *cough*. Restoring is a multi-daily thing now. It has become apart of life. After the 16th or 17th restore and my new iPod touch arrived in the mail, I just gave into it.

Update: 2.0.1 is out as of 7:30pm tonite and I praise the Apple peoples. (Before 2.0, apple was my god. NOW I DON'T KNOW)

Update 2: My review of 2.0.1 will be coming tommorrow after i download it at my wifi hotspot.

P.S: The reason I haven't updated the blog in so long is that I have been on vacation.

Rewind Review: Firmwares 1.1.1 - 1.1.4

Ok, Today i am going to review the old firmwares that everyone will forget about when 2.0 comes out. Ok let's go...

1.1.1: This is one of the most influential of the 1.1's. It gave all iPhone and iPod touch users the ability to buy and download music straight off wifi. This feature is still around today, and in 2.0 the icon is changed (who knows if there are changes in the actual app). Other than that there wasn't that much that was added.

1.1.2: This wasn't a very big update at all. It was overlooked by many users of both the iPhone and iTouch. The only thing this did was break the jailbreak that most(all) apple users had. Oh, and it added the ability to add events in the calendar app.

1.1.3: Was a huge update. For many this WAS the 2.0 update.(Until now) Okay, let's start with the iTouch users. This added 5 apps that were ported from the iPhone. Including: Mail, notes, stocks, weather, and maps. This update cost $20 for a very same file that told the actual free firmware file to let these apps appear on the home screen. Now for the features that both users recieved: 1. Ability to customize home-screen by moving around apps 2. Ability to have multiple home-screens 3. Ability to add webclips to the home-screen for immediate venturing to that website 4. Added web-app support 5. Added new interface for Maps app including a faux GPS capability

1.1.4: Added security settings. Did not break jailbreaks. Some were very confused by this. This was the least important update ever.

OK, now for the scores:
1.1.1) 8.75 out of 10
1.1.2) 3.67 out of 10
1.1.3) 9.95 out of 10
1.1.4) 1.5675234 out of 10

1st Review: Super Monkey Ball

Thank you all for stopping by. This is my first review of an iPhone application. THIS IS ONLY A REVIEW BASED ON THE DEMO VERSION OF THE APP.

Super Mokey Ball looks very promising, with 110 levels and four different characters, SMB lloks to be the first app I will get once 2.0 is released. SMB, made by Sega, is controlled by the iPhone/iTouch's accelerometer. The point of the game is to: 1. Get to the end of the level without falling off the edges, within the specified time limit. 2. To get as many bananas as you can in the level. The gameplay so far looks great. Can't wait to see this game in a full version. I give this app a 10 out of 10.

Get the full review on July 12th.

Welcome/ First Review Coming Soon

Welcome to iPhone App Reviews!!! The original blog for reviewing iPhone 2.0+ Apps that will be sold on the App Store when the iPhone and iPod touch 2.0 Software Update is released. My first review will be coming soon, MOST LIKELY AFTER 2.0 IS RELEASED. I will also be reviewing the 2.0 firmware itself, and I will be bringing you this all on a semi-daily basis.

There will be some reviews of the demos that were given at the Maarch 6th event and WWDC '08. These will all be re-reviewed when they are released.
